Albert Schweitzer Hospital opts for hybrid CT solution from Medispace

The Albert Schweitzer Hospital faced the challenge of replacing an outdated CT scanner. Because continuity in diagnostics is essential within the radiology department, working without a backup was not an option. Without a temporary solution, the hospital would be left with only one CT system, which would significantly increase the vulnerability of the care process. The hospital came into contact with Medispace through the supplier of the new CT system. Early on in the planning stage, it became clear that a reliable hybrid CT solution was needed for a period of seven weeks.

A mobile CT unit tailored to practical needs

Together with Medispace, we looked for a unit that best suited the hospital's wishes and requirements. The choice fell on a hybrid CT unit at ground level, without stairs or a lift, which significantly improved accessibility for patients and staff. It was also important that the scanner felt familiar to the team, so that they could get started immediately without extensive instructions.

Thanks to the familiar look and feel of the system, the radiology staff were able to continue working without any problems. The unit was also practically designed, with two changing rooms that provided sufficient privacy and a pleasant, efficient working environment

Continuity without interruption

During the deployment of the hybrid CT unit, the Albert Schweitzer Hospital was able to continue its work without interruption. With approximately one hundred scans per day, capacity remained at the same level and waiting times were even reduced. The temporary solution ensured that the replacement of the permanent CT scanner was hardly noticeable to patients and staff.

Cor Ritmeester, head of the Radiology department at the Albert Schweitzer Hospital, looks back on the collaboration very positively: ‘Our process went almost flawlessly. In fact, no one noticed anything. It was just excellent. I would definitely recommend Medispace, especially with this unit.’
